International School Representative Visited University of Otago
On 5th of May, Dr. Qingqing Zhou, the Vice Dean of International School visited the University of Otago which is one of the renowned universities in New Zealand. Mr. Garry Chronican, the Director of University of Otago Pathway, and Dr. Clare, Academic Head of Level 5 Diploma, warmly welcomed Dr. Zhou.
Dr. Zhou first recalled her fond memories of her Ph.D study at the University of Otago and extended her sincere gratitude for the education she received from the University of Otago. Then she briefly introduced Guangzhou Huali College, covering its history, size, features, and academic programs. Emphasizing the distinctive educational philosophy of "student-oriented, professional service," Dr. Zhou highlighted the college's mission to cultivate internationally-minded applied talents. The college also boasts an international education platform that offers interdisciplinary majors, fully English-taught academic programs, and faculty members with international educational backgrounds programs with global collaboration, and students all qualified to study abroad".
Mr. Chronican showed his warm welcome and appreciated the visit of Dr. Qiongqing Zhou, a graduate alumni of the University of Otago. He highly praised the international educational philosophy and mission on management of Guangzhou Huali College and full English teaching platform of International School. Both sides exchanged views on the upcoming cooperation between Huali International Foundation Program and University of Otago's Level 5 Diploma Program. Mr. Chronican expressed his willingness to recommend high-quality teachers to teach at Guangzhou Huali College. Both sides agreed to sign the cooperation letter of intent (LOI) and planned to establish a Huali Otago working group as soon as possible.
Finally, Dr. Zhou, on behalf of the International School of Guangzhou Huali College, presented the " Red Lychee Receiving Fortune " embroidery handicraft to the University of Otago Pathway.
The University of Otago was founded in 1869 and is located in Dunedin, the capital city of Otago province, on the South Island of New Zealand. It is the first university with the longest history in New Zealand. It is one of the world's top universities, with four schools: Business, Health Sciences, Humanities, and Science. It has over 21,700 students and 2,800 international students from over 90 countries and regions.
