On September 26, 2022, Guangzhou Huali College issued a document titled “On the Decision of Huali College to Initiate the Application Process of Joining Sino-American CHEPD 121 Dual-Degree Program” (Guangzhou Huali College Educational Document [2022] Number 49). According to the document, the college endorses the decision to join the Sino-American Cooperation on Higher Education and Professional Development (CHEPD) 1+2+1 Dual-Degree Program host by China’s Ministry of Education and officially launches the application process. The document announced that International School is authorized by Huali College to organize work related to the application process, and functional departments involved shall cooperate with International School in the process.

Sino-American CHEPD 121 Dual-Degree Program, recognized and accredited by governments on both sides, is jointly initiated by Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU).  Forty two (42) American universities (all state-run universities) and 134 Chinese universities and colleges (133 of which  are public universities and colleges) have participated in the program. Joining in the influential program for international higher education cooperation, accredited by both Chinese and American government, empowers the school’s construction of English-immersed majors, helps to enhance the quality of English-immersed courses, advances the school’s agenda of implementing globalized education measures, distinguishes Huali’s unique brand image, and lays a sound groundwork for the future approval of undergraduate course assessment to be conducted by Ministry of Education.

Huali is known to be the second private college to apply to join the Sino-American CHEPD 121 Dual-Degree Program.
