The "1+2+1" Sino-US Dual Degree Program is a collaboration between the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) and the China Center for International Educational Exchange (CCIEE) under the Ministry of Education, and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU). The objective of this program is to develop individuals with a global mindset by establishing a system of acknowledging academic credits and degrees between universities in China and the United States. As of 2022, a total of 131 universities from China have joined the program, including 128 public universities and Guangzhou Huali College is one of the three private universities that have been approved to participate in this program.

Under this program, students study at the International School for one year, complete their second and third year coursework at a partner American university, and return to the International School to complete their undergraduate studies. Upon meeting the requirements, students will be awarded a bachelor's degree and a diploma (both taught entirely in English) from the Chinese university and a bachelor's degree recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Education from the American university.

Currently, four public state universities in the US participate in this program, including York College of the City University of New York, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Ball State University, Coastal Carolina University, California State University San Bernardino, and Eastern Washington University.
