In September 2022, the International School made the "English Corner Activity Plan" for freshmen to help them quickly involved and adapted in the English teaching environment. Since October 20, four English Corner activities have been successfully held in this semester.

The "English Corner Activity Plan" is a strategy to match the University policy “All academic courses of undergraduate programs in the International School are required to teach in English starting from 2022 freshmen”. The objective of this plan is to help freshmen to improve their interest in English learning and communication, enhance their confidence in speaking English, adapt to the all-English teaching environment as soon as possible, and eliminate the language barrier of studying abroad.

Based on this plan, students are grouped within 10-15 students and one English teacher is assigned as the tutor. Activity is held in the evening once every other week and the venue can be in classroom or outdoor.

In one semester practice, all tutors showed their passion, patience and skills evidenced by diversified activities like games, drama, dance, debate, free talk, story meeting, talent show etc. All joined students were totally attracted and fully involved by their interests, motivation, openness and joyfulness and great progress in opening their mouth naturally in English.

English Corner activities also enhanced the friendship between students, trained and exercised their English expression ability, stimulated their interest in learning and practicing English language. Results indicated that English Corner activities carried out in the International School would be great help for students study abroad planned in the international projects of “1+2+1”, “2+2”, or “3+1”.
