Chairman Zhifeng Zhang Visited the University of New Haven and Signed a Memorandum of Understanding
On the morning of June 27, 2024, Mr. Zhifeng Zhang, the Chairman of the Board of Directors was invited to visit the University of New Haven (UNH) in the United States. Mr. Zhang was warmly received by Professor Jen Frenkwen, the President of the University of New Haven, Dr. Henry Chang-Yu Lee, a renowned criminal forensic expert and founder of the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science, Professor Mario Gaboury, a member of the UNH Academic Committee and Dean of the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science, and Professor David A. Schroeder, the Vice Dean of the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science, among others.

A symposium was held in a meeting room at the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science, where Professor Jen Frenkwen warmly welcomed Zhifeng Zhang. During the event, Professor Frenkwen provided an introduction to the University of New Haven, covering its history, faculty and student body size, academic disciplines, and unique characteristics. He specifically emphasized the development history, international influence, and significant contributions of the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science. Professor Jen Frenkwen expressed deep admiration for Chairman Zhang’s educational vision in founding Guangzhou Huali College, a sentiment echoed by Dr. Henry C. Lee and Professor Mario Gaboury.
Chairman Zhang expressed his gratitude for Professor Jen Frenkwen’s invitation and warm hospitality. He provided a brief introduction to the educational history, achievements, distinctive features, and future development plans of Guangzhou Huali College. He particularly emphasized the unique educational philosophy and the international faculty and staff of the International School, highlighting that it is the only private institution in China offering fully English-taught programs among private universities in mainland China.
Chairman Zhang also reminisced about Dr. Henry C. Lee’s visit to Guangzhou Huali College on December 21st, 2023. During this visit, Dr. Lee delivered an academic lecture in English that drew an audience of over 500 enthusiastic faculty members and students. Mr. Zhang expressed his appreciation for Dr. Lee’s praise of the students’ English proficiency and professional qualities, as well as his recognition of the college’s distinctive educational features and its beautiful campus environment.
Chairman Zhifeng Zhang and President Jen Frenkwen signed a memorandum of understanding between the two universities. Both universities agreed to collaborate in the format of “2+2” credit mutual recognition program, encouraging student exchange programs and supporting faculty visits and other forms of cooperation.

Accompanying and witnessing Mr. Zhang's signing of the cooperation agreement were Mr. Jianguo Mei, head of the U.S. branch of Sing Tao Daily News; Mr. Bentley Zhao, Chairman & CEO of New Empire Corp.; Ms. Ellen Qian, Chief Business Development Officer of New Empire Group; and Mr. Bing Xie, Vice Chairman of Betagro Co., Ltd. from Bangkok, Thailand.
An Introduction of University of New Haven, UNH
University of New Haven was founded in 1920 on the campus of Yale University. It currently has three campuses, with the main campus located in West Haven, Connecticut, about 90 minutes from New York City and 2.5 hours from Boston. The university consists of six colleges offering 11 disciplines, 54 undergraduate majors, 36 master's programs, and 3 doctoral programs.
