On September 20, 2024, President Sung-Hoon Yi (李昇勋) of Sehan University （세한대학교，世翰大学）from South Korea visited Guangzhou Huali College. Mr. Zhifeng Zhang （张智峰）, Chairman of Huali, graciously welcomed the esteemed guests in the reception room to explore opportunities for collaboration. Joining him in the meeting were Mr. Yude Zhang （张裕德）, Executive Director of Huali Group; Ms. Aesook Jeon （全爱淑）, Head of the Secretariat Office at Sehan University; and Ms. Sunyu Jung （郑先玉）Director of Chinese Affairs.

Chairman Zhang extended a warm welcome to President Sung-Hoon Yi on his first ever visit to Huali College. He outlined the founding, development, achievements, and challenges faced by the Huali College. Chairman Zhang highlighted the board’s commitment to internationalization as a key strategy, fully supporting efforts to enhance the quality of international education through various cooperative initiatives. He expressed hope for meaningful collaborative projects between Sehan University and Guangzhou Huali College.

President Sung-Hoon Yi expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the warm welcome from Chairman Zhang. He was particularly impressed by Huali's green campus, Book Bar culture, sports facilities, and the attention given to both students and faculty. President Yi agreed with Huali's proposals for international preparatory programs, pathways from associate to bachelor’s degrees, bachelor’s to master’s degrees, faculty and staff development, student and teacher exchange visits, and Korean language classes. He expressed his readiness to instruct his team to implement these initiatives gradually, guided by the principle of "mutual benefit”.

Overview of Sehan University

Sehan University (세한대학교，世翰大学） was established in 1994 by Dr. Kyung-soo Lee, initially named "Daebul Industrial College," and later upgraded to the comprehensive university "Daebul University." In 2012, it was officially renamed "Sehan University." It is a private comprehensive international university with two campuses located in Tangjin City, part of the Seoul education circle, and Yeongam County, Jeollanam-do.

The university includes Mokpo Science University, Mokpo Girls' Commercial High School, and Sehan University Confucius Institute, affiliated with Mokpo Central Hospital, Gwangyang Central Hospital, and the largest fire training center in Korean universities, Sehan FSC. It offers 26 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs with approximately 6,000 students and over 300 faculty members. In 2004, it established two Sino-foreign cooperative education programs with Tianjin Normal University in China (Master of Educational Administration and Master of Information Economics).

The university has colleges for aviation, information technology design, leisure and health, public health, education, and more. The main academic disciplines include aviation service, artificial intelligence and big data, police administration, sports and leisure industry, traditional performing arts, social welfare counseling, pet management, fire administration, nursing, physical therapy, taekwondo, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, special education, early childhood education, entrepreneurship and lifelong education, digital health rehabilitation, global business management, shipbuilding and maintenance, marine and leisure studies, etc.
