On November 19, 2024, Guangzhou Huali College's International School (IS) hosted a Zoom meeting with New Zealand Language International (LI) to discuss the potential for collaboration on an overseas "language + internship" program. Participants included Mr. Darren Conway, President of LI, and Mr. Brett Shirreffs, Marketing Director, alongside Professor Shuze Tang, Dean of the International School, Dr. Qingqing Zhou, Vice Dean, and Teacher Jingxiang Chen. The meeting was chaired by Vice Dean Dr. Qingqing Zhou.

Dean Shuze Tang began by providing an overview of Guangzhou Huali College and the development of its International School, which offers courses entirely in English. He highlighted the two primary objectives of the International School: "establishing a comprehensive English-language teaching platform" and "developing international cooperation projects." Dean Tang expressed hope that through a partnership with Language International, the school could utilize its global network to offer students at the International School of Guangzhou Huali College valuable opportunities for overseas internships and study programs.

President Darren Conway introduced the history and current status of LI, emphasizing its global language training and international network. LI is not only the standard requirement for English proficiency for admission to the eight major universities in New Zealand but also a recognized basis for foreign language levels at universities in Australia and other Eurasian countries. In 2023 alone, thousands of students from 36 countries and regions came to LI in Auckland, New Zealand, to study foreign languages.

During the meeting, Brett Shirreffs introduced the possibilities of exchange learning and internship programs. Brett stated that students studying at LI not only intern in New Zealand but also have the opportunity to intern in other countries such as Japan and Europe through its partner network.
